No matter what’s taking you to Chicago, one thing you need to make sure to bring is a healthy appetite! Folks here know how to eat – and love to talk about what they’re eating too. Here’s a list of five of Chicago’s most avid foodie bloggers.

(312) Dining Diva

Blogger Audarshia Townsend has written lifestyle features for the Chicago Tribune, Essence, Los Angeles Times, Michigan Avenue, about.com, playboy.com, Huffington Post and more. She started (312) Dining Diva in 2006 as a “a daily dining-and-drinking blog keeping readers up to date on Chicago happenings.”

Recently, Audarshia has shared her enthusiasm for newly opened Nouveau Tavern and its “sweet southern-inspired cuisine” and her excitement for soon to open Mexican themed deli, Mercado Counter.

An Epicurean in the Windy City

Here’s a blog full of anecdotes and advice from “just a guy who loves food, wine, restaurants” who also happens to have a career as a “restaurant veteran”.

Wondering what’s the greatest Mexican restaurant in America? This Windy City Epicurean has the answer.

ChicagoBites

Since February 2006, Chicago Bites has been “a fiercely independent source for restaurant reviews, local food events, and behind-the-scenes discussions with area chefs and food producers” with aim “to provide an original voice … in a crowded field of press-releases.”

Visiting Chi-town for a birthday celebration? Here are some tips from Chicago Bites on how to pick the right place to eat.

Chicago Eater

One of the most active sites in the popular Eater network of food blogs, the Chicago edition is an excellent resource for local foodie news.

Recently top stories include NobuConfirms Chicago Outpost for 2014 and advice on where to find the best brunch in the city.

Sky Full of Bacon

Sky Full of Bacon is the “podcasts (video and audio) and blog of Michael Gebert, James Beard Award-winning food video producer and writer, final editor of the late Grub Street Chicago and contributor to the Chicago Reader, Chicago Sun-Times, Time Out Chicago, Serious Eats, Saveur.com and other publications.”

Check out Michael’s roundup of Great Unknown Pizzas of the Near Northwest Suburbs for tips on where to find a yummy slice in fringes of Chicagoland.
