A photo posted to Twitter this past weekend depicting a TSA pat-down of an 8-month old baby at Kansas City International Airport has caused an uproar across the country.
The TSA’s response to the incident could cause further outrage. The agency responded to the criticism in a recent blog posting, saying that the agents involved “followed proper current screening procedures.”
The man who snapped the photo, Kansas City pastor Jacob Jester, said that he wasn’t out to embarrass the TSA but felt the need to document what he saw as an extreme and unnecessary search.
The incident is just one of many the TSA has faced in recent weeks. Parents across the country have increasingly expressed outrage at the search of young children and a former Miss USA complained of inappropriate touching during an enhanced pat-down.
