Tourist areas in Egypt are considered safe for the time being, despite mounting protests against the rule of President Hosni Mubarak.
Over the past few days, many of the protests have turned violent, with hundreds of people being placed under arrest.
Despite the protests, however, Egypt’s biggest tourism draws remain for the most part unaffected.
The British Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Office issued a statement saying that while it considered travel to Egypt safe, travelers should keep an eye on the situation and be willing to change plans accordingly.
The office also warned British citizens to stay clear of any possible protest sites.
