A Nepal-based environmental group is calling for portable bathrooms to be installed at some of the highest peaks on Mount Everest.
According to the group, 50 years of exploration has left Everest littered with debree including loads (pardon the adjective) of human waste.
Adding to the problem, the extreme cold at such high elevation keeps waste from decomposing quickly.
The peak porta potties are just one initiative being looked at by environmentalists. They are also looking at ways to reduce common litter and other pollutants.
There’s no word just yet on how much toilets would cost or how in the world they would be maintenanced.
