This September, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines will launch 200 flights powered completely by fuel made from recycled cooking oil.
The announcement of the new “green flights” comes a year and a half after the airline first began experimenting with biofuel-powered flights.
The new fuel will require no mechanical changes to KLM’s existing Boeing jet engines, according to officials. The September flights will operate on the carrier’s Paris-Amsterdam route.
