A popular vacation spot year-round, Myrtle Beach never disappoints on Labor Day weekend. Make sure you bring your appetite to the 12th annual Beach, Boogie & BBQ Festival. Held every Labor Day weekend, the two-day event features free beach music concerts, a mini art fair, and lots of food vendors along with a beer garden. The highlight of the weekend is Saturday’s barbecue competition, where you can watch over 75 pit masters compete to take home this year’s title as the best in the state!

Daytona Beach, Florida

One of the highlights of spending Labor Day weekend in Daytona Beach is attending the races at the Daytona International Speedway. Of course, if race cars aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other ways to spend your last summer weekend. Lounge on the beach, eat your fill of seafood, attend the Bruce Springsteen tribute and fireworks show, or check out the Island Rum Festival on Main Street.

San Diego, California

The array of Labor Day weekend activities in San Diego is as dazzling as the southern California beach city itself. During the US Sand Sculpting Challenge and Dimensional Art Exposition, master sand sculptors from around the world converge to build unbelievable creations for the public to enjoy. That same weekend, the Barona Band of Mission Indians host their annual weekend pow wow including a dance competition, camping, and traditional foods. Of course, there are plenty of beaches to choose from if you’re looking for a little fun in the sun.

Cannon Beach, Oregon

Hike and take in some of the area’s stunning views, lounge near the water with a good book, or get to know locals and visitors at the Sunday night weenie roast. You can also head into town to experience unique art galleries, wine tasting, and an array of delightful independently owned eateries.
