The high desert location of Albuquerque makes it one of the best spots around the world for hot air ballooning. The famous “International Balloon Fiesta” is organized in the city every October. It sees throngs of people every year from all round the world. This event goes on for over a week in which the cold morning skies fill with hot air balloons and the sunset finds these balloons filled again for evening "balloon-glows". One can see these balloons from almost everywhere in Albuquerque.
