The weather may still be giving us a major headache, but have faith: summer is just around the corner. Now’s the ideal time to start planning for that perfect family vacation. Feeling a bit stumped on what to do to ensure that the whole family has an amazing time? That’s where we come in. We’ve rounded up the best family-friendly destinations for your perfect summer vacation. So get ready to start planning a vacation no one will forget anytime soon!

Grand Canyon – Arizona

It’s a classic family vacation spot, and with good reason. The Grand Canyon is one of the most awe-inspiring natural wonders you could hope to share with your loved ones. If you and your family are keen on the outdoors, this is the ideal vacation spot. There are scenic hikes that let you experience its full glory, and plenty of gorgeous camping spots ideal for getting in touch with nature. For the truly adventurous, white water rafting down the Colorado River is an experience not to be missed.

Vieques – Puerto Rico

For a tropical vacation that’s a bit off the beaten path, you can’t go wrong with Puerto Rico. The islands offer a virtually endless supply of fun and excitement sure to keep even the most restless child occupied. Parents can relax on the sun-soaked beaches in between taking their brood on walking tours through the jungle, exploring the rich local culture, or simply taking a family snorkeling trip. The hard part will be finding enough time to do all these amazing activities.

Boston – Massachusetts

Boston Public Garden. George Washington Statue surrounded by tulips, tourists and beautiful spring colors.

Is your family more into the excitement of the city? Then pack a bag and get ready to dive into Boston. This city is the ideal spot for a fun family vacation. With plenty of historical locales to explore, your kids will get a first-hand look at places they’ve only heard about in textbooks. For baseball fans, Fenway is an experience that’s simply indescribable. For everyone else, there’s plenty of events, culture, and exciting things to explore.

Belize City – Belize

If your family embraces the unknown and loves discovering things together, Belize is the only place to be. Set up an exciting tour of actual Mayan ruins, or swim in the tranquil waters of the bay. Kids will adore getting to tramp through a real-life jungle, and parents will just love its rich culture. Get ready to explore a beautiful city alive with history that will be sure to leave your kids with plenty of material for essays on how they spent their summer vacation.

Stockholm – Sweden

Looking for a European vacation that’s also a family-friendly experience? Then set your sights on Stockholm. There are tons of museums for every interest in this friendly and accessible walking city. You and your kids can explore the fascinating history of Sweden, in between sampling delicious delicacies. Be sure to check out the stunning gardens throughout the city — your kids will love the chance to run around.

Anaheim – California

This sun-soaked city has everything you need for the perfect family trip (including, of course, Disneyland). You can spend your entire vacation in this kid-friendly amusement park — you won’t hear any complaints from the little ones. Sports fans can try to schedule their trip when one of the local teams is playing (the Anaheim Ducks and Los Angeles Angels being two of the most popular). For everyone else, there’s still the gorgeous beaches, fun nightlife, and delicious food that help make California the happiest place on Earth.

London – England

There’s plenty to do in London with kids, so make sure to plan out activities in advance. Is your family in love with the world of Harry Potter? Then be sure to visit all the London locations used in the movie — you can even check out Platform 9 3/4 at King’s Cross Station! For the rest of the family, there’s the theater, plenty of great shopping, the London Zoo, and endless historical delights.
