Ulaanbaatar Vacation Packages: Affordable and Exciting Adventures Await!

The capital and largest city of Mongolia, Ulaanbaatar is located in a valley on the Tuul River. The city is the industrial, cultural, and financial hub of Mongolia. Ulaanbaatar hosts the only international airport of the country. The city is surrounded by four sacred mountains with dense pine forests on the northern slopes and grassy steppes on the south. Ulaanbaatar is mostly described as open, sunny, and peaceful. With a plethora of tourist attractions, the city is certainly an excellent tourist destination.
Places of Interest in Ulaanbaatar
Gandan Monastery
The largest and most significant monastery in Mongolia, Gandan Monastery is one of the most interesting sites in Ulaanbaatar. The monastery was built in the mid of 19th century and it is the only monastery where Buddhist services continued to function even at the times of the communist past. The Migjid Janraisig Temple is a significant part of the monastery. This temple houses the spectacular new gilded statue of Migjid Janraisig, ornamented with jewels.
Natural History Museum
One of the oldest museums in the country, Natural History Museum was founded in 1924. Today, there are departments of Geology, Geography, Paleontology, and Flora and Fauna in the museum. The exhibits include the displays of stuffed and embalmed animals. Paleontology section is the most impressive section of the museum. In this section, there are petrified eggs and bones of numerous dinosaurs that lived in Gobi desert.
Museum of National History
Offering the richest collection on the history of Mongolia, Museum of National History occupies the building of the former Museum of Revolution. The museum covers the country's history from the Stone Age to the modern times. The exhibits include several arts and artifacts, military equipment, and arms of the warriors of Genghis Khan. • Decent experienceMy experience with OneTravel was decent but could use some improvements. I found a good deal, but navigating the site was a bit tricky at times. Thankfully, once I booked, everything went smoothly. I would use them again, but hope for a more intuitive platform in the future.
