Antwerp is a one of the most populated cities situated on the Scheldt River in Belgium. Antwerp witnessed Summer Olympics in the year 1920. Not only this, in the year 1903 the first World Gymnastics Championships was held in Antwerp. The city homes one of the world’s biggest port - the Port of Antwerp, which ranks second in Europe, and amongst top 20 in the world. In the beginning of 1990, Antwerp emerged as one of the world’s biggest fashion hubs and competed with New York, Paris, Milan, and London. Today city is well known for its art and culture. Initially Antwerp was a walled city but now only remains of the walls are noticeable.

Museum aan de Stroom: The museum is located in the Eilandje District, in Antwerp, Belgium. It was opened for public on 17th May 2011 and is the largest museum in the city.
Cathedral of Our Lady: This Roman Catholic cathedral - Cathedral of Our Lady, is another noted attraction to visit in the city. Around 25,000 people can be seated at once in the cathedral. In order to ring the largest bell in the cathedral, approximately 16 bell ringers are needed.
Antwerp Zoo: Antwerp Zoo is one of the oldest zoos in the world, built in the year 1843. The main criterion behind the development of the zoo was to promote zoological and botanical sciences. The zoo is serving as the home to approximate 7,000 animals of around 950 species. The Antwerp Zoo has also been playing a very important role in the prevention and the breeding of the endangered species such as Okapi, Golden-headed Lion Tamarin, Congo, Bonobo and many more. During Summer Olympics in the year 1920, the Antwerp Zoo served as the venue for wrestling and the boxing events.
