Casco Viejo, also known as Casco Antiguo or San Felipe, is the historic district of Panama City. It was built as a walled city on a peninsula a few kilometers away from Panama Viejo to protect its settlers against future pirate attacks. Setup in the year 1908, the theater was designed by Italian architect Genaro Ruggieri. The theater has been built on the site of an 18th century monastery. The theatre is part of a cross-shaped building.
