Muzaffarabad Fort

Also named as Red Fort, Muzaffarabad Fort was constructed by the Chak rulers of Kashmir. The architecture of this fort displays the great expertise in structural design. Muzaffarabad Fort is surrounded on three sides by the Neelum River. The north part of the fort used to have terraces with steps leading to the bank of the river. The fort was reconstructed by Maharaja Gulab Singh and Ranbir Singh for political and military operations.

Pir Chanasi

A large mountain with an elevation of about 2924 meters, Pir Chanasi is located around 32 kilometers east of Muzaffarabad. The mountain overlooks vast areas of Azad Kashmir. Machiara National Park

Located in Lower Neelum Valley, Machiara National Park covers an area of around 13532 hectares. One can reach the park via Patika. This park encompasses mixed broadleaf coniferous forest and is home to a notable number of bird species. Machiara National Park also provides natural habitat to a number of wildlife species such as western tragopan, ibex, brown bear, monkeys, wolves, and more.
