Rising about 182 meters in height, Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak was formed due to the series of volcanic eruptions about 1, 00,000 years ago. The view of sunrise from this peak is one of the most popular things to do in Jeju. This sites looks like an old fortress on a coastal cliff. It was originally a volcanic island and was later connected as gravel and sand collected in between the mainland and the island.
Cheonjiyeon Falls
Literally meaning 'God's pond', Cheonjiyeon Falls offer visitors with a majestic view of water falling from a steep cliff and making sound that covers all the other sounds. The falls derives its name from the legend that the seven fairies who served the King of Heaven came down to the pond on stairs of cloud and bathed in the waters of this falls. Cheonjiyeon Falls is 22 meters in height, 20 meters deep and 12 meters wide. The water of Cheonjiyeon Falls is home to Mutae eels.
Hallasan Mountain
The highest mountain in Korea, Hallasan Mountain is located in the heart of Jeju Island. It is a dormant basalt volcano with about 360 parasitic cones creating a magnificent landscape. The mountain also boasts Baegnokdam, a crater lake with 3 kilometers of circumference and 500 meters of diameter. The backdrop here remains beautiful all around the year. On different altitudes of the mountain, there is found different and rare ecosystem.
