After all, how could you forget a classic movie like\u00a0<em>The Goonies<\/em>? Central to the story is the Astoria neighborhood that served as the &#8220;Goon Docks,&#8221; and an important part of which was the &#8220;Walsh Family residence,&#8221; the home\u00a0where The Goonies (Mikey and Brand Walsh, Data, Mouth, and Chunk) would meet up and hatch\u00a0new adventures. The home can still be visited by foot, but the community has discouraged visitors due to\u00a0littering, parking problems, and the general nuisance caused by the hundreds of die-hard fans coming through the quiet neighborhood. The former jail has now become the Oregon Film Museum, dedicated to movies made in the state of Oregon. You&#8217;ll find costumes and memorabilia from <em>The Goonies<\/em>, <em>Kindergarten Cop<\/em>, <em>Free Willy<\/em>, <em>Twilight<\/em>, <em>Sometimes a Great Notion<\/em>, and <em>National Lampoon&#8217;s Animal House.\u00a0<\/em>Parked outside you can also take a cool picture alongside an SUV similar to the one used by the Fratelli gang in the movie, complete with bullet holes.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Ready for your next adventure? It was built in 1885 by Capt. The SUV finally escapes by mingling in with other vehicles taking part in the &#8220;Astoria ORV Rally&#8221; that&#8217;s taking place on Cannon Beach. The park was the location for many scenes in the movie. After The Goonies discover pirate One-Eyed Willie&#8217;s treasure map,\u00a0they are shown riding up the access road to the park. Later, Mikey&#8217;s brother Brand is pushed off the same road by his high school arch-enemy.
