There are some amazing places that both you and your grandkids can enjoy. Start off your adventures at <a href=\"http:\/\/downtowncontainerpark.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Downtown Container Park<\/a>. This shopping and dining districts is made up of old shipping containers, and has something for every age group. Younger kids will love the treehouse area, which includes a 33-foot-tall slide, NEOS play system, and massive foam building blocks.<\/p>\n<p>If the kiddos are little nerds at heart and love to discover things for themselves, then the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lvnhm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Las Vegas Natural History Museum<\/a> is the place to go. They&#8217;ll just love the interactive experience that includes looking at tiny organisms through a microscope, seeing moon jellies, and watching the sharks being fed.<\/p>\n<p>If you think kids will never find an art museum interesting, then you&#8217;ll be surprised at what&#8217;s in store at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lacma.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Los Angeles County Museum of Art<\/a> (LACMA). There&#8217;s Story Time, Korean and Chinese brushwork they can get involved in at the Boone Children&#8217;s Gallery, and of course the\u00a0Metropolis II &#8211; a massive city-like structure (complete with miniature moving vehicles) made out of\u00a0building blocks, Lego blocks, and Lincoln Logs. They can climb into a larger-than-life hawk&#8217;s nest or construct buildings out of natural materials, or get their hands dirty while shaping things out of mud and clay. Make sure to bring some extra clothes, towels, and water shoes because this hands-on experience will get messy!<\/p>\n<p>If the outdoors is where the kids would rather be on a sunny LA day, the miniature train ride, pony rides, and carousel at Griffith Park are made just for them. Plus, they can play frisbee on the grass or run around the Shane&#8217;s Inspiration playground to their hearts&#8217; content. The aquarium&#8217;s alligators, sharks, penguins, and turtles will also make for interesting viewing for the kids. As an extra treat, you can spoil them with the 30-minute Dolphin Odyssey program ($44-53 per child, depending on age), where they&#8217;ll get to touch, kiss, and even ride a dolphin!<\/p>\n<p>Okay, so while you might think a zoo visit is a bit average for your getaway with the grandkids, we definitely would recommend giving Zoo Miami a try. While the animals will elicit &#8220;oohs&#8221; and aahs&#8221; from the children, they&#8217;ll love splashing around at the zoo\u2019s Fiesta Fountain (bring extra clothes!). Whether it&#8217;s a Broadway play, musical, or even a puppet show, there&#8217;ll be plenty of options to choose from. Need a break after running behind the kids? Plus, the kids will love the tasting room, where they can indulge in free samples as much as they want.<\/p>\n<p>Aimed specifically at children the ages of 8 and under, the <a href=\"http:\/\/childrensmuseumatlanta.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Children\u2019s Museum of Atlanta<\/a> showcases fun exhibits like the Gateway to the World, where kids learn geography with hands-on activities, and Fundamentally \u00a0Food, where they learn how to farm, deliver, and fruits and vegetables. Frome June to September, there&#8217;s also an exhibit inspired by the Blueman Group, which takes a playful look at the creation of sound and music.<\/p>\n<p>Home to more than 200 puppets from around the world, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.puppet.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Center for the Puppetry Arts<\/a> also houses a large collection of puppets from The Muppets TV show.
