What could be more memorable than salmon fishing with your best buds? Oregon is a great place to catch some salmon (while sipping on a few cold ones). For those who have never been salmon fishing before, here\u2019s the scoop: The best type of salmon (in terms of value and taste) is the Chinook salmon. The largest run of Chinook in Oregon takes place in the fall (and second largest is in the spring), so plan your trip accordingly. Chinook in the fall run can get up to over 50 pounds, and can be caught deep in the ocean or as they swim up rivers. There are plenty of places to rent gear and hire guides in Portland<\/a>, making this a great high-adventure\/low-stress option for your “last hurrah” as a single guy.<\/p>\n

Craft Beer Taproom Tour of Minneapolis\/St. Paul<\/h2>\n

The Twin Cities<\/a> have become a hotbed for craft breweries over the last decade. What better way to celebrate impending nuptials than visiting some of the best (and friendliest!) craft breweries in the country? With plenty of nationally known names to choose from (like Surly and Fulton) and small local favorites (like Lucid Brewing, LTD Brewing Co., Excelsior Brewing, Indeed Brewing, and Harriet Brewing), it\u2019s relatively easy to plan your own Twin Cities brewery tour. Of course, if you want to take the guesswork out of it, local companies like Bitter Minnesota <\/a>will help you organize a tour to remember. For those who are in it to win it, many Twin Cities breweries either serve food or have relationships with nearby eateries so you can fuel up and keep going all day (and night) long. Cheers!<\/p>\n

Camping in Big Sur, California<\/h2>\n

A good old-fashioned camping trip is a great way to celebrate for grooms (and groomsmen) on a budget. Of course, the destination makes all the difference. There are few places in the country as breathtaking as coastal Big Sur, which has inspired many artists and authors (like Jack Kerouac<\/a>) over the years. But enough about that \u2013 it\u2019s also a great place to pitch a tent and drink whiskey around a campfire. There are a number of state park and privately owned campgrounds<\/a> that would make a perfect bachelor party location. My advice is to reserve a spot early, though, since these spots fill up quickly. Don\u2019t want to haul camping equipment with you? There are plenty of local outfitters who offer tent and camping supplies rental at reasonable prices.<\/p>\n
