So we decided to take a look at places all around the country and the world that are perfect to visit in April. Besides, what\u2019s a better way to spend that new tax refund than on a fresh adventure of travel and excitement?<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are six April destinations and why you should visit before May 1.<\/p>\n

Boston, Massachusetts

\nIt might not seem like the kind of place to visit to shake off whatever winter chill is still left in your bones, but Boston is a pretty awesome destination. From the many historical sites alongside the city\u2019s impressive urban landscape to the can\u2019t-miss seafood, there\u2019s plenty of reasons to visit Beantown pretty much anytime. But in April, you can catch a Red Sox\u2019s game at Fenway and then cheer on runners as they make their way along the course of the world famous<\/span>Boston Marathon<\/span><\/a> on April 18. \u00a0<\/span>

\n<\/span>This small Southern Californian town located in the Colorado desert is the perfect place to enjoy the warm outdoors (and especially take in some fantastic scenery filled with California palm trees), but in April it\u2019s the hippest place on the planet. That\u2019s when the nearby Empire Polo Ground is home to the<\/span> Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival<\/span><\/a>. For two weekends (April 15th \u2013 17th and April 22nd \u2013 24th this year), almost every hot band and performer across a wide variety of musical genres will take the stage (or actually one of many) and draw legions of fans (as well as a-list celebrities).<\/span><\/p>\n

St. Thomas, U.S.Virgin Islands

\n<\/b>One of the main islands that make up the U.S. unincorporated territory, St. Thomas has the appeal of…well, a Caribbean island. So expect sun, swimming, pristine beaches, cool alcoholic drinks, shopping, and, in April, the island\u2019s annual <\/span>Carnival festival<\/span><\/a> (featuring pageants, calypso shows, parades, food, fireworks, and plenty of partying).<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/b>There are two types of veteran world travelers, those that have been to Japan for cherry blossom season and those that haven\u2019t yet. And if you\u2019re going to go the \u201cLand of the Rising Sun\u201d for \u201cHanami,\u201d the best bet is to go during April. Regions across the island see their cherry blossom trees bloom throughout the month, so you just need to use <\/span>forecasts<\/span><\/a> to figure out what areas to see when you make the trip.<\/span><\/p>\n

New Orleans, Louisiana

\n<\/span>Everyone loves a trip to New Orleans, even if it\u2019s not during Mardi Gras season. The city is a cornucopia of food, drink, music, history and more. And April sees the already must-visit city host its <\/span>Jazz & Heritage Festival<\/span><\/a>. For forty years, what\u2019s simply known as \u201cjazz fest\u201d has been a New Orleans and pop culture event. This year\u2019s jazz fest, which takes places across two weekends (Friday, April 22 – Sunday, April 24 and Thursday, April 28 – Sunday, May 1) and features multiple stages for local music legends like Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Rebirth Brass Band, and Aaron Neville, as well as headliners the likes of Stevie Wonder, Pearl Jam, and Nick Jonas.<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Plenty of tourists make Amsterdam a destination throughout the year, but they should really time their trips for April. It\u2019s when the region\u2019s notorious Tulip season begins and the month that <\/span>King\u2019s Day <\/span><\/a>(the city\u2019s annual day-long street fair featuring music, food, and vendors) takes places (this year\u2019s edition is on April 27).<\/span><\/p>\n
