San Diego<\/a> may have been the first place on America\u2019s west coast visited by Europeans, and the envy of all us who\u2019ve had to endure winter (the average temperature is 64\u00b0F), but for four days every summer,\u00a0<\/span>America’s Finest City<\/em>\u00a0(seriously, that\u2019s San Diego\u2019s actual nickname), becomes America\u2019s Nerdiest City<\/em>\u00a0during the <\/span>San Diego Comic-Con International<\/span><\/a>. This year, it\u2019s all going down July 21\u201324, but before the city gets taken over by mega fans and cosplayers, we thought we\u2019d put together a guide to the city from the perspective of some of our favorite superheroes.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Here are 9\u00a0things to do in San Diego that caped crusaders would recommend. \u00a0 \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n<\/span>Recommendation:<\/b> Experience human flight at <\/span>Torrey Pines Gliderport

If there\u2019s a quintessentially classic superhero ability, it\u2019s to soar through the air like a bird or a plane. But unless you\u2019re the last son of Krypton (or the Falcon), you should just head over to Torrey Pines to try out, and even learn how to hang glide, or para-glide solo. Up, up, and awaa-aay!<\/span><\/p>\n

POW!<\/strong> Of course, the most patriotic superhero of all would want to check out the second life of the USS Midway, America\u2019s longest serving aircraft carrier, which is now the most popular naval museum, not only in San Diego, but in the whole country!<\/span>[\/mks_pullquote]<\/p>\n

BAM!<\/strong> Gotham\u2019s great detective<\/em>\u00a0is a pretty serious guy, but that doesn\u2019t mean he doesn\u2019t know how to have fun. This interactive comedy\/murder mystery dinner show let’s you become the audience\u00a0every Saturday, or you can hire it out for a private show for your own group.<\/span>[\/mks_pullquote]<\/p>\n

Is there any doubt that the intergalactic being, and Fantastic Four ally known as the Silver Surfer (because he uses a surfboard to travel through space, and not because he was the first senior\u00a0to surf the web), would suggest heading over to the museum dedicated to preserving the history of surfing? Certainly not.<\/span><\/p>\n

This Amazonian superheroine’s\u00a0go-to San Diego destination, without a doubt, would be this area museum dedicated to the state\u2019s female side of history. It\u2019s one of America\u2019s half-dozen women\u2019s museums.<\/span><\/p>\n

BOOM!<\/strong> The first Legoland o<\/span>utside of Europe is just a short ride away in nearby Carlsbad, and with it\u2019s world of miniature activity based around the popular Danish building blocks, it’s the perfect spot for anyone\u00a0who\u2019s able to shrink down to the size of an ant.<\/span>[\/mks_pullquote]<\/p>\n
