{"id":98881292,"date":"2011-01-04T12:39:00","date_gmt":"2011-01-04T12:39:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/travel-trends\/american-airlines-flight-attendants-back-in-talks\/"},"modified":"2018-10-04T09:59:57","modified_gmt":"2018-10-04T13:59:57","slug":"american-airlines-flight-attendants-back-in-talks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/going-places\/american-airlines-flight-attendants-back-in-talks\/","title":{"rendered":"American Airlines, Flight Attendants Back in Talks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>American Airlines will resume negotiations with its 18,000 flight attendants in Nashville on Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The new talks are scheduled to take place over three days and will be overseen by a new federal mediator.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The airline and union members are hoping the talks will lead to a contract after two long years of negotiations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Laura Glading, president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants, said she is keeping an open mind about the discussions but doesn\u2019t see any signs that the airline will increase its previous offer.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;They always seem to have the money to spend on (other) things they want,&#8221; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The union rejected American\u2019s last proposal which included a three percent signing bonus and pay raises that would amount to 9.9 percent over five years.
