Some visitors to Paris often indulge in decadent meals in some of the city\u2019s finest restaurants (and there are many to choose from).<\/p>\n

However, when I\u2019m in Paris, I enjoy grazing my way through the day on street food.<\/p>\n

Cr\u00eapes<\/strong>: Whether it\u2019s an oozing Nutella cr\u00eape or a savory lunchtime cr\u00eape with ham, cheese and greens, I can\u2019t go wrong with this Parisian favorite. Some of the best cr\u00eape stands are located along the Rue Mouffetard.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gauffres<\/strong>: Walking along with one of these massive waffles screams \u201ctourist,\u201d but I can\u2019t help myself. Sprinkled with just a touch of confectioner\u2019s sugar, they are simply irresistible.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Falafel<\/strong>: I definitely load up on my fair share of falafel sandwiches each time I visit the City of Lights. The best falafel can be found in Paris\u2019 historic Marais neighborhood. L\u2019As du Fallafel (located on the rue des Rosiers) serves up some of the best in the city).<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Gelato<\/strong>: Yes, I know it\u2019s Italian, but that doesn\u2019t stop me from indulging in a gelato (or two) on a hot Parisian summer day. Gelato d\u2019Alberti (located on the Rue Mouffetard) serves up some of the city\u2019s best gelato with an artistic flare. Creamy, flavorful gelato and sorbet scoops shaped into a flower and served atop a huge sugar cone are sure to delight both the eyes and the taste buds.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Open-air markets<\/strong>: It\u2019s hard not to stumble upon an open-air market during your time in Pairs. Most neighborhoods in Paris host regular markets (always the same day each week), so it\u2019s possible to visit a market nearly every day. The vendors at these markets are usually quite personable and most (especially in Paris) speak at least a little English. They regularly sample out their wares (a great lunchtime \u201cappetizer\u201d) and you can find some of the best produce, cheese, meat, bread products (and more) here.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Slideshow Image: Freebird_71 <\/a><\/em><\/p>\n
