{"id":98881150,"date":"2011-04-18T14:13:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-18T14:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/travel-trends\/united-airlines-making-changes-to-frequent-flier-fees\/"},"modified":"2019-08-21T07:29:08","modified_gmt":"2019-08-21T11:29:08","slug":"united-airlines-making-changes-to-frequent-flier-fees","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/going-places\/united-airlines-making-changes-to-frequent-flier-fees\/","title":{"rendered":"United Airlines Making Changes to Frequent Flier Fees"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/airlines\/united-airlines-ua\" target=\"_blank\">United Airlines<\/a> announced late last week that it would be making changes to its frequent flier fees.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Beginning on June 15, \u201cgeneral\u201d members of its Mileage Plus program who book a ticket using frequent flier miles less than 21 days in advance will be subject to a $75 fee.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPremier\u201d members will pay $50 in the same situation while \u201cpremier executive\u201d member will pay just $25.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, United will lower fees for passengers who wish to change an origin city or destination using their miles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That service will now cost $75 for general members (down from $150.) Premier members will pay $50 with premier executive members again paying just $25.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The changes were made to mirror <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/airlines\/continental-airlines-co\" target=\"_blank\">Continental Airlines<\/a>\u2019 frequent flier program more closely.
