The expansive center is organized according to six Polynesian &#8220;islands&#8221;: Fiji, Hawaii, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Tahiti and Tonga.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After visiting the \u201cislands,\u201d be sure to stick around for one of their Nightly luaus and performances featuring traditional music and dance&#8212; a memorable experience, to be sure. Close to the Polynesian Culture Center is <strong>La&#8217;ie Point<\/strong>, a lookout that offers fantastic views of the North Shore\u2019s coastline.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.fws.gov\/refuges\/profiles\/index.cfm?id=12529\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">The James Campbell Nature Wildlife Refuge<\/a>, one of Hawaii\u2019s only wetlands, is open to visitors from October through February. The Refuge serves as a habitat for approximately 119 species of birds, including the largest group of wetland birds in Hawaii. If you\u2019re hungry when you\u2019re done, stop at a shrimp cart in Kahuku and enjoy some of the fresh shellfish.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The historic town of <strong>Haleiwa<\/strong> is a great place to relax and do a bit of shopping. The town is known for its <em>Hale&#8217;iwa is paniolo <\/em>(Hawaiian cowboy) style architecture and dates back to when the town was founded in the early 1900s. Haleiwa caters to tourists, and therefore is home to a wide variety of art galleries, surf shops, clothing boutiques, jewelry shops, and eclectic eateries that make the perfect place to stop and grab a bite before you get on the road again and head back to Waikiki.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>Interested in learning more?
