Most of the cancelled flights originated out of Newark, New Jersey.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It was unclear whether the cancellations highlighted a simple pilot shortage or a unified show of frustration from pilots in the midst of slow labor talks with management.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>United Continental formed last year following the merger of United and Continental Airlines.
