\nThe smash-hit “Book of Mormon” musical that has taken Broadway by storm will soon establish a second residence in Chicago.\n<\/p>\n

\nThe Windy City is set to welcome “The Book of Mormon” to the Bank of America Theater beginning in December 2012 in what is seen as a major coup for the city’s theater scene.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nThe musical became one of the most sought-after titles in production after grabbing nine Tony Awards back in June. The New York show is sold out well into 2012 and is routinely grossing over $1 million per week. \n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nOffering almost double the occupancy of New York’s Eugene O'Neill Theatre, officials in Chicago expect to generate major tourism dollars with this partnership. An initial run of 12 weeks was ordered for the Chicago run of “Mormon,” but all signs point to the city becoming a long-running second home for the production.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\n“The Book of Mormon” was written by “South Park” creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone alongside “Avenue Q's” Robert Lopez. Group tickets are available immediately and subscribers to Broadway in Chicago's 2012 season can get tickets beginning September 18.\n<\/p>\n
