\nEntry to National Parks across the United States will be free this Saturday, September 24 in honor of Public Lands Day.\n<\/p>\n

\nAlong with free admission will come a chance for visitors to give a little back.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nOver 2,000 volunteer events will take place across all 50 states and the District of Columbia in what organizers are calling the largest 1-day volunteer event in the nation.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nVolunteers will work to remove litter, weed out invasive plant species, and assist in minor construction projects. The efforts will amount to $15 million in improvements, according to official estimates.\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nThose who can’t make it out on Saturday will have another chance to see the nation’s most beautiful parks for free over Veteran’s Day Weekend (November 11-13.)\n<\/p>\n
\n \n<\/p>\n
\nVisitors should note that while no entry fees will be collected on these dates, other charges for camping, concessions, and select third party tours will still be in effect.\n<\/p>\n
