Mount Rushmore is getting a little work done this week. Crews are currently working to fill in cracks and protect against weathering at the famous presidential landmark in South Dakota.<\/p>\n

This isn’t the first time Mount Rushmore has gone “under the kinfe” for a touch up. The monument is inspected and improved about once a year.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The surrounding attractions at Mount Rushmore are expected to remain open throughout the repair process, which could extend well into next week.<\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

However, portions of the Presidential Trail could be closed from time to time as crews swap out heavy equipment.<\/p>\n
