Despite a weak national economy, travelers can\u2019t seem to get enough of the Crescent City.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>They also can\u2019t seem to spend enough; visitors plunked down $3.1 billion through the first half of the year, up 10% from the same time period in 2010.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>While the physical numbers point to a strong resurgence, the city is about to enjoy a more symbolic victory this week.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Hyatt Regency New Orleans is stet to re-open Wednesday for the first time since Hurricane Katrina devastated the city back in 2005.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In the days and weeks following the epic storm, the luxury hotel served as ground zero for first responders and rescue workers.
