The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) announced plans for a major expansion earlier this week.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The sweeping project calls for $480 million worth of renovations which will add more than 250,000 square feet to the museum and create multiple points of entry.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Fundraising for the project is on track with about 79 percent of the necessary funds already secured, according to museum officials.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Ground is set to break on the project in 2013. Should all go according to plan, the museum revamp should be complete in 2016.<\/p>\n
