While it may not be Paris or New York, Chicago can certainly hold its own in terms of great designer boutiques. The last time I was in the windy city, I was pleased to see a focus on (and real enthusiasm for) \u201cshopping local\u201d and supporting independent boutiques. Here are my top three suggestions for boutiques that feature handmade goods (many of them created by local artists and desginers) in the Chicago metro area.<\/p>\n

Shoppers can catch a glimpse of the artistic process at the on-site studio where artists are creating. One Strange Bird is also a social hotspot, hosting art openings and parties throughout the year.
