Historic and cherished \u2026 and still packing ’em in, the \u201cfabulous\u201d Fox Theatre in Atlanta is a landmark of the Georgia capital and one of the state’s premiere venues for the best in cinema and live entertainment.<\/p>\n
Originally planned to be a Shriner Temple (check out the fantastic Moorish design), the Fox opened as a movie house in 1929. These days you can still catch a screening at this 4,678 seater theatre along with a variety of live performances. From ballet to rock and kid friendly entertainment to nouveau burlesque reviews, there’s something for everyone at the Fox with more than 300 performances scheduled every year.<\/p>\n
Dinner and a Show<\/strong><\/p>\n Got a date night lined up in Hot’lanta? A Fox Theatre Dinner and a Show package might be just the ticket for making it a special occasion. Restaurants included in the promotion include some of Atlanta’s favourite: Alma, Ecco, Gordon, Biersch, The Lawrence, Livingston, Ocean Prime and South City Kitchen. Whether it’s a frisky and familiar evening of Grease Sing-A-Long or a rousing staging of the sensational Stomp, grabbing a bit before or after the show is a smart way to extend the good times.<\/p>\n Take a Tour of the Fox<\/strong><\/p>\n An hour long guided tour of the Fox takes guests from the orchestra pit to the Men’s Lounge (with original furniture chosen by wife of movie-mogul William Fox) and offers a chance to learn about the theatre’s illustrious past and about some of the many stars who’ve graced its stage: Elvis, the Rolling Stones and Madonna to name but a few.<\/p>\n Meet the Mighty Mo<\/strong><\/p>\n Custom built for the Fox, \u201cMighty Mo\u201d is the second largest theatre organ in the world with 42 ranks, four manuals, and 376 stop tabs. He’s played before every Broadway performance as well as during the Coca-Cola Summer Film Festival and The Atlanta Ballet’s Nutcracker.<\/p>\n Summer Fun<\/strong><\/p>\n Going to be in ATL soon?
