Today, such intellectuals would be called scientists. Since then, the APS has \u201cgathered and preserved a rich collection that traces American history and science from the Founding Fathers to the computer age.\u201d The museum showcases the 270 years of work by the APS with items on view including scientific specimens and instruments, patent models, portraits, maps, artwork, rare books and more.<\/p>\n<p>Entrance is free, but a $1 donation is requested.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"\/admin\/pages\/http:\/www.nps.gov\/inde\/planyourvisit\/benjamin-franklin-museum.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Benjamin Franklin Museum<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n317 Chestnut Street, 19106<\/p>\n<p>Located in Franklin Court at the Independence Hall National Park, the newly renovated and completely refurbished Benjamin Franklin Museum \u201cfeatures artifacts, computer animations, and interactive displays &#8230; geared toward visitors of all ages, with displays that are educational, challenging, and fun.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Entrance is $5 for adults, $2 for children ages four to 16 (ages three and under get in free).<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.carpentershall.org\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Carpenters&#8217; Hall<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\n320 Chestnut Street, 19106<\/p>\n<p>Carpenter&#8217;s Hall played host to the First Continental Congress in 1774 and was the original home to Franklin&#8217;s Library Company, the APS and the First and Second Banks of the United States.
