Everest\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Decades of welcoming hikers, climbers, and adventure seekers has taken an economic toll on Mt. Everest and the surrounding Khumbu Valley.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A build up of garbage and solid waste has become a major issue in the area.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Now the Nepal Tourism Board is teaming up with Everest Summiteers Association (ESA) and Eco Himal to kick off the &#8220;Save Mt. Everest Campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The hope is to remove over 8 tons of garbage from the mountain and install 15 waste management plants in the area.
