{"id":473,"date":"2011-06-21T11:23:00","date_gmt":"2011-06-21T11:23:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/travel-trends\/us-airlines-sign-on-to-landmark-biofuel-deal\/"},"modified":"2019-08-21T07:29:33","modified_gmt":"2019-08-21T11:29:33","slug":"us-airlines-sign-on-to-landmark-biofuel-deal","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/going-places\/us-airlines-sign-on-to-landmark-biofuel-deal\/","title":{"rendered":"US Airlines Sign on to Landmark Biofuel Deal"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>According to the Air Transit Association, a number of US carriers, led by United and American Airlines, have signed a letter of intent in a landmark biofuel deal with Solena Fuels.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The agreement would make 16 million gallons of biofuel available each year to airlines flying out of Bay Area airports.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The jet fuel will be developed entirely from recycled waste and could be used at airports in Oakland, San Francisco, and San Jose as early as 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Other US airlines signing on to the deal include Alaska Airlines, JetBlue Airways, Southwest Airlines, US Airways, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/airlines\/frontier-airlines-f9\">Frontier Airlines<\/a>.
