The carrier hopes to begin flying as a full member in 2012.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When that happens, Malaysia passengers will be able to earn and redeem rewards on any flights operated by other OneWorld members.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The alliance currently consists of over a dozen airlines, including major carriers like American Airlines, British Airways, Qantas, and Cathay Pacific.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>With the addition of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/airlines\/malaysia-airlines-mh\" target=\"_blank\">Malaysia Airlines<\/a>, the alliance will now reach nearly 950 destinations in 150 countries while transporting 358 million passengers annually.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Two more airlines, Germany\u2019s Airberlin and India\u2019s Kingfisher, are also expected to join the alliance in 2012.<\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em><br \/>\nSource:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/business\/malaysia-airlines-to-join-oneworld-alliance-start-flying-as-member-by-late-2012\/2011\/06\/06\/AGrI52JH_story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow\">Washington Post<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will soon join the OneWorld Alliance.
