This week sees the annual Frieze Art Fair<\/a> descend upon London. With it comes a scope of art related activities and satellite events across town with some of London’s best known galleries taking advantage of this time of heightened buzz to put on their biggest shows of the year. \nZabludowicz Collection<\/em>
\nThe first UK solo exhibition by Lizzie Fitch\/Ryan Trecartin is an ambitious series of sculptural theatres where four interconnected films \u201cthat touch upon our changing relationship to the camera and its influence on conceptions of history, evolution and selfhood.\u201d Zabludowicz Collection is located at 176 Prince of Wales Road, NW5 3PT. \nMarvin Gaye Chetwynd, Hermitos Children 2 <\/strong>
\nStudio Voltaire<\/em>
\nHermitos Children 2<\/em> is part of an ongoing series of \u201cexperimental television crime drama\u201d films which follow telepathic detective Joan Shipman as \u201cshe uncovers and solves sex crimes\u201d and is screened within a large scale gallery installation incorporating a number of props and interiors. Not for the easily offended or perplexed and definitely one to file under \u201cout there\u201d \u2013 fascinating stuff! Studio Voltaire is located at 1A Nelson\u2019s Row, SW4 7JR. \nSteve McQueen, Ashes <\/strong>
\nThomas Dane Gallery<\/em>
\nBest known as the director of 12 Years a Slave<\/em>, winner of the 2013 Oscar for Best Motion Picture, Steve McQueen is back with an exhibition featuring a short film and a sculptural installation through which he \u201cfurther extends the range of his enquiry into the image and the object.\u201d Thomas Dane Gallery is located at 11 Duke Street Street James\u2019s, SW1Y 6BN (with another space up the street at 3 Duke Street as well). \nVictoria Miro<\/em>
\nOne of Japan’s most celebrated artists, Yayoi Kusama, is exhibiting a new series of large scale bronze sculptures of her iconic pumpkins. Victoria Miro is located at 16 Wharf Road, N1 7RW. \nDairy Art Centre<\/em>
\nAnother popular artist from Japan, Yoshitomo Nara, exhibits a range of paintings, large and small sculptures, and a retrospective of drawings which spans 30 years in Greeting from a Place in My Heart, the largest and most comprehensive UK exhibition of work by the artist to date to be shown in the UK.
