The airline said Friday that pieces from the engine had shot through the plane\u2019s wing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>CEO of Qantas, Alan Joyce, said it was too soon to say exactly what had forced one of the planes four Rolls-Royce engines to fail shortly after takeoff from Singapore on Thursday and that a detailed investigation was in the works.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>According to Joyce, maintenance, which the airline is responsible for \u2013 did not seem to be a vital factor.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The plane suffered an engine blowout just after taking off from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.onetravel.com\/cheap-flights\/singapore-sg-deals\">Singapore<\/a>.
