Bloody Pond \u2014 Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia<\/h2>\n

Said to have been turned red from the blood of killed soldiers during the Civil War Battle of Chickamauga, today Bloody Pond is one of a number of purportedly haunted spots around the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park<\/a>. When you go, be on the lookout for the local folks\u2019 favorite ghost \u2013 Green Eyes!<\/p>\n

Gardner Lake \u2014 Salem,\u00a0Connecticut<\/h2>\n

There\u2019s a fully intact house at the bottom of Gardner Lake<\/a>. The house is there due to a botched attempt to move it across the lake when it was frozen over one winter. As the story goes, the ghosts of the children and older family members who drowned can be seen and heard around the lake. Some even say they\u2019ve heard a piano being played from the part of the lake where the house sunk.<\/p>\n

Haunted Lake \u2014 Francestown,\u00a0New Hampshire<\/h2>\n

Scoby Lake, aka Haunted Lake<\/a>, is well known for its mysterious sounds. Uncanny explanations for the weird noises include a massive fire that killed everyone who lived around the lake. Another is that two men fought here to the death in the 1700s, the winner buried the other on the lake\u2019s shore.<\/p>\n

Drew University Lake \u2014 Madison,\u00a0New Jersey<\/h2>\n

An apparition of the \u201cLady in Blue\u201d has been the subject of numerous sightings around the lake at Drew University<\/a>, usually around sunset.<\/p>\n

Lake Ronkonkoma \u2014 Long Island,\u00a0New York<\/h2>\n

At White Rock Lake,<\/a> you may run into the Lady of the Lake, a young woman who appears to be dressed in a style out of the 1930s, completely drenched and wandering alongside East Lawther Drive at night. If you pick her up, she\u2019ll vanish as soon as she sits but will leave your seat wet. Guess what? She\u2019s a ghost!<\/p>\n
