The battle between airlines vying for the top spot on the list of longest nonstop passenger flights continues in its intense competition as carriers leap-frog one another at what seems like lightning speed!
Currently battling it out for the number one spot is Qatar, with its recently launched 17-hour, 30-minute flight between Auckland and Doha, and Qantas soon to take the lead with their recently announced nonstop, long-haul flight, due to launch in 2022, from Sydney to London — a whopping 20+ hour flight and 10552 mile distance (yes, you read that correctly)!
Long-haul flights are never the easiest ones to endure (and here are some ways to survive them), but long layovers and the hassle of connecting flights only add to the misery. Not only are you losing out on precious vacation time, but you may also be losing out on some great deals! Nonstop flights in off seasons are often the same price (if not cheaper) than direct or connecting flights– meaning you could be getting to your desired destination faster, sooner and within your budget.
So, if you’re itching to go the distance, but want to get there without the all those layovers that dig into your limited time in your desired destination and into your wallet, you’ll want to check out these long-distance flights. You may just find your solution to get the best bang for your buck!
