ExpressJet Airlines
Established in 1986, ExpressJet (XE) is a regional airline, based in Houston, Texas, USA. ExpressJet was amongst a group of small commuter airlines acquired by Continental Airlines. The airline was spun off from Continental in 2002 and began charter services in December 2006. On February 5, 2007, ExpressJet announced service to 24 cities in the southwest, Midwest and west coast regions of the United States.
Afterwards (in April 2007), the airline began point-to-point services from locations throughout the USA. Although an autonomous business entity, the airline continued operating as Continental Express for Continental Airlines from several hubs, including George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Houston, Newark Liberty International Airport and Hopkins International Airport, Cleveland, Ohio. ExpressJet ended its point-to-point service from its hub at LA/Ontario International Airport, Ontario, California on September 2, 2008. After ceasing skied service ExpressJet is only offering charter and other aviation related services.
