With its main headquarters in Bulgaria’s Sofia Airport and another hub located at Varna Airport, Air Hemus (DU) was founded by the industrial enterprise, TIM in 1999. Air Hemus was one of the most prominent airlines in Bulgaria, offering its services to various domestic and international destinations including Bourgas, Athens, Berlin, Dubai, London and Madrid.
Air Hemus had a fleet of 15 aircraft including Boeing 737-400, BAE-146-200 and ATR 42-300. As Air Hemus was facing stiff competition from other airlines operating in Bulgaria, the top management of Air Hemus decided to merge with Bulgaria Air in 2006. Now the new airline is known as Bulgaria Air which has taken over all destinations of Air Hemus.
