Aero California
Initially started as an airline providing only chartered flights, Aero California (JR) was a budget airline, based in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico. In 1989, the airline witnessed rapid growth and subsequently started its full-fledged flight services to various domestic and international destinations. Its focus cities were Don Miguel Hidalgo Int'l Airport, Guadalajara and Gen. Abelardo L. R. Int'l Airport,Tijuana .
With its second hub in Mexico City International Airport, Aero California had a fleet of 17 airplanes that covered 17 destinations. The airline was forced to stop its services on April 3, 2006 because of its poor safety standards but it made a comeback on August 11, 2006. All went well until July 23, 2008 when Aero California stopped its operations because of its high debt with the Mexican Air Traffic Control. Aero California still has its airline license but presently it is still grounded.
