I picked the Phoenix/Scottsdale area as we were meeting my son that lives in Denver halfway for a couple of days of sunshine on Xmas 2012.
We toured the Old Town, lots of galleries,business not as booming at this time. Had a wonderful dinner at Malee's, Thai Food that has now become my favorite Thai.
Hiked Camelback Mountain on Xmas Day, very busy, parking a problem but the shuttle service provided was awesome!! Cost $5 pp however water/banana's and granola bars were provided and you can call for pickup when done, perfect.
