Counted among leading players of leisure flights market in Italy, Eurofly Airlines (GJ) was a privately owned airline with its headquarters in Milan’s Malpensa International Airport. Founded on 26 May, 1989’ the airline used to fly mainly to international destinations like the Maldives, Sri Lanka and Africa. Generally there were medium to long-haul and point-to-point flights. Some of the most prominent destinations covered by Eurofly Airlines were Rome, Naples, Bologna and Palermo.
Eurofly Airlines had a fleet of 11 airplanes that boasted electronic adjustable lumbar support and footrests with innovative Italian Recaro seats. After a successful stint as a leading Italian airline, the top management of Eurofly Airlines decided to merge it on 28 February 2010 with Meridiana to expand its business horizons. After the merger the new airline was named as Meridiana Fly.
