America West Airlines (HP) was America's second largest low cost airline before it merged with the US Airways Group in 2005. The airline was headquartered in Tempe, Arizona and had its main operating hub located at the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. Prior to its merger, America West Airlines flew to more than 100 destinations across US, Mexico and Canada.
In early 2005, America West Airlines entered into a merger agreement with US Airways and became a part of the company. The fleet of America West Airlines was delivered to the US Airways livery and all its aircrafts were repainted accordingly.
